CHIP Perinatal Newborn
Perinatal Newborn is for newborns of women in CHIP Perinatal. With CHIP Perinatal Newborn, your baby’s healthcare coverage is available for twelve months. The coverage begins when you enroll the unborn baby while you are pregnant. After the twelve months of coverage ends, you can apply through the state CHIP office to have your baby covered under the CHIP program. Babies of mother’s with the CHIP Perinate Rate 310 will become CHIP Perinate Newborns.
Pregnant members who have CHIP Perinate Rate 309 must apply for Medicaid for the baby because they do not become CHIP Perinate Newborns.
